Virnell Curtis was born to B.J. Moore and Buelah Flowers on June 7, 1930, in Tempson, Texas.
Virnell believed in family and worked tirelessly to take care of her loved ones. It was not uncommon for her to work 2 or 3 jobs to care for her family. Ultimately she retired from the State of Colorado and Dependable Cleaners in 1992. With the heart of a servant, Virnell touched the lives of those whose path she crossed. Affectionately know as "Granny" to many, her love of life, laughter, and presence will be missed.
After years of battling many illnesses, Virnell passed away peacefully in Aurora, Colorado on November 26, 2010. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, Valda Shirl Patton (Harvey) of Denver, CO, Lillian Blanche Williams of Phoenix, AZ, and Charles Edward Curtis of Beaumont, TX, Ronette Pye of Oak Grove, KY and daughter in law, Sandra Jojola of Denver, CO. She was preceded in death by her children Linda Gail Curtis, Elaine Salone and her son in law Willie Salone. Virnell also leaves behind her grandchildren; Ronald Salone, Willie Salone, Rachelle Simmons, Michelle Simmons, Tracy Williams, DeAndre Casey, Asia Casey, LaMica Casey, Denise Curtis, Dion Curtis, Joaquin Jojola, Jesse Jolola, Elicia Tillis and Vernell Bourne as well as many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
