Vivian J. Brooks , 89, of Aurora, passed away March 27, 2019. She was born February 7, 1930 in East St. Louis, Illinois, the daughter of Delmar and Freda (Fauss) McClenahan. She was a graduate of Eastside High School in East St. Louis, Illinois, in 1947.
Vivian was a member at Faith Presbyterian Church in Aurora. She volunteered for many years with Senior Friends at Medical Center of Aurora, formerly Aurora South Medical Center. She was also the subject of a TV news piece on Channel 6 News for her time volunteered with the organization.
Vivian was an avid bowler and went to the State and National Tournaments each year that she bowled until her health prevented her from bowling. She also loved to travel and visited numerous countries in Europe, provinces in Canada, and many states in the United States. Vivian was known for her zucchini bread. She also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family.
Vivian is survived by two sons, William E. (Cindy) Brooks and George A. (Kerri) Brooks; daughter, Kathy Lynn (Mike) Chamberland; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren with 1 great-grandchild on the way; two nieces; and several extended family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by father, Delmar McClenahan; mother, Freda McClenahan; son, Robert E. Brooks; daughter, Carol L. de Aragon; 1 great-grandchild and her sister, Dorothy Ganschinietz.
