Von E. Ellis, age 87, of Aurora, passed away at his daughter's home on Saturday, November 30th, 2019 after his 6 year courageous battle with Leukemia. He was born on December 3rd, 1931 in Clayton, KS. He was the third son of Leslie R. Ellis Sr. and Ethel (Troutner) Ellis. He graduated from Clayton High School in 1950. Shortly after graduation, he served in the Army from 1951-1953. On June 27th, 1954 Von married Helen Peters in the United Methodist Church in Ogallala, NE. They moved from Ogallala in 1959. After living in Beuna Vista, CO for one year they moved out to Aurora in 1960. Von worked as a glass glazer for many years in addition to owning his own glass business. He went to work for the City of Aurora in 1979 working in the street department. He retired in 1995 and enjoyed many hobbies such as hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his sons; Steven and wife Teri of Ogallala, NE., Kevin and wife Kim of Aurora, CO. Daughter: Tamara (Tami) Robison and husband Paul of Aurora, CO. 2 grandsons; Kenton Ellis and fiancé Dana Valdez of Alamosa, CO., and Christopher Robison and his wife Ashleigh. One granddaughter: Mackenzie Robison. In addition to his great-granddaughter Penelope (Penny) Robison and great-grandson Owen Robison all of Aurora, CO. One sister: Myrna Jones of KS, and sister-in-law Sally Ellis of IL. Other survivors included several family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Ellis, father and mother, 2 brothers (Leslie Ellis Jr. and Robert Ellis), and sister-in-law Barbara Ellis.
