In Remembrance Of
WALTER ALLEN READ
October 1, 1956 - March 27, 2006
In loving memory of a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Walter left this world and we never got to say goodbye. He was a man for all seasons. He was born in Canada and was a resident of the United States for over forty years. He was a "Jack-Of-All Trades" including spending years in the electrical construction industry and as an owner/operatory for Denver Area Cab Companies. He loved his classical rock music and the Colorado Rocky Mountains, planning to build a home there with his beloved Teresa. His children, Zachery and Jennifer, both of Denver, made him glow with pride and they were his anchor. He gloried in their accomplishments and growth, with both in Retail Management and Zachery serving in the Colorado National Guard. Walter's mother was his best friend and confidante and their bond in life will be eternal. His brother and sisters loved and will dearly miss the "Baby" of the family.
Our memories are the things we remember and hold in our hearts but the reminders of his presence can never be erased, for he loved all aspects of life. He was a man whose heart was a big as the mountains he loved and although he had his own personal struggles he always displayed the inner strength and courage to battle them and carry on. His many life-long friends attest to his character and charisma.
He loved history, was an avid reader of any type of literature, was adept at photography, personalizing and framing his own favorite pictures. He loved camping and hiking in the mountains, playing his guitar and being with members of his family.
MOST IMPORTANTLY HE WAS A MAN OF SIMPLE PLEASURES. "HIS TREASURES WERE HIS FAMILY".
Walter had been battling cancer for the past several years and had survived major surgeries which always gave he and his family hope and an inner peace that all our prayers for his recovery each time had been answered, but God called him home.
His passing has left a void in our lives but our faith in God and the hereafter leaves us with the assurance and comfort that he's in Heaven with his father (Harry Allen Read) and is probably reviewing all his "Theories" on history and "Jamming" with "Lynard Skynard" and the band.
WALTER-WE WILL ALWAYS MISS AND LOVE YOU
LOVE ALWAYS-YOUR FAMILY
