Walter Earl Raglin was born February 22, 1960, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Winfield George Raglin Sr. and Earlene Marie Graves Raglin.
Since infancy, Walter was instilled with Christian teachings and symbolized his dedication to the Creator, Jehovah God, by water baptism on July 1, 1982. Among his various assignments in the congregation, he had the privilege of serving as a ministerial servant, as well as carrying out other duties.
Walter was educated in the Omaha Public School system and graduated from North High School in 1979.
In 1983, he joined his sisters, Sheila and Sherry, in Denver, Colorado. This is where he met and married Erika Penn on November 30, 1985. They were later blessed with one daughter—Moriah Joelle. Moriah was the "apple of his eye." Because of instilling the love and teachings of Jehovah God and Jesus Christ into her life, Walter was able to see her progress spiritually to the point of water baptism and to serve as a faithful servant of Jehovah.
Walter was employed as a brewery specialist for Coors. And as anyone can tell you, he certainly enjoyed sharing the "fruits of his labors" with others.
As a young child, he was good-natured, and grew up to be a generous, warm and loving gentleman. Walter enjoyed music—especially jazz—and played the clarinet and piano. He loved to laugh and share his joy with others, as many of us can remember his jokes. In addition he had the gift to make everyone feel that they were someone special. He was dearly loved by many.
Walter passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008, in Aurora, Colorado. He looked forward to the resurrection of his parents: Winfield and Earlene; grandparents: Redrick Raglin, Virginia Bibbs, Earl Sr. and Genevieve Graves; aunts: Elece Raglin Elliot and Sylvia Graves Barnes; uncles: Junior Raglin, Halsey, Earl "Buzzy", and Milton Graves, as well as other beloved ones.
He leaves to cherish fond memories with his wife: Erika; daughter: Moriah; siblings: Elece, Winfield Jr., Gladys, and Sheila Raglin, and Sherry Raglin Donovan (Anthony); nephews: Winfield III, Justin and Nicolas Raglin; uncles: Walter (Opal) and Kenneth Graves; aunts: Coretha Bolden and Carolyn Graves; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Jim and Kay Penn; and a host of cousins, other relatives, extended family, and friends.
