Walter John Talmadge
November 27, 1954 – May 20, 2022
Walter John Talmadge a native resident of Colorado passed away on Friday May 20, 2022. Walter was born on November 27, 1954, he was 67 years young. His dear Mother was Virginia Talmadge Kevan who passed in 1964 who also left this life too soon leaving her children to endure a somewhat rocky childhood. Despite the early difficulties, Walter overcame the hardship and went on to become an amazing Husband, Father, Grandfather, and passionate public servant.
He served the citizens of Colorado with dedication, and good faith for 31 years, from 1974 until his retirement in 2005, where he received countless awards and commendations for his many contributions at the Colorado Department of Transportation. After his retirement from CDOT in 2005, he continued to serve his community as President of the Horizons at Towne meadow HOA until February 2022.
Walter loved his family, home, animals, cars, machines, and was inherently mechanically gifted. He loved driving on road trips and visiting with family, neighbors, and friends. He will forever be deeply missed.
Walter is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara Cason-Talmadge, and two children, his Daughter Amanda Talmadge-Long, and his Son Tyler Russel Talmadge. Together with his wife Barbara they have 1 very cherished Grandson, Wyatt James Long.
In accordance with Walter's wishes, no services will be held.
