Warren J Rouse, age 86, of Royal, Nebraska died June 5, 2019 at Collier Hospice Center in Wheat Ridge CO. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Peace with Christ Lutheran Church, 3290 South Tower Road, Aurora CO 80013, 303-693-5618, with Pastor Josh Krepel officiating.
Warren was born on March 19, 1933 in Royal, Antelope, Nebraska to Clarence H. Rouse and Ella (Klabanes) Rouse. He grew up on the family farm. While in high school, he met Fauneil Rabbass in the neighboring town of Orchard. They got married there in 1953. That year he entered the United States Army during the end of the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1955 and returned to his wife and started his family. Warren pursued a long-time career in retail management with JC Penny and Montgomery Ward, beginning in the shoe department of JC Penney in Lincoln NE. In 1962, his family moved with him to Santa Fe NM for four years. They came to Denver-metro CO in 1966 settling in Aurora. Upon his retirement in 1992, he took up landscape services with his son Courtney. He enjoyed helping his neighbors and keeping fit. In 2014 Warren and Faun moved to Wheat Ridge CO to be closer to their children and grandchildren in Arvada and Lakewood. Warren is remembered for his readiness to help others, his quick wit, his interest in cars and music, and his love for his family.
Warren is survived by his wife Fauneil Rouse, and his children and grandchildren – son Craig Rouse and wife Carrie MaKenna; daughter Stephanie (Rouse) Jacobsen and husband Tom Jacobsen and their children Lindsay, Brian and Samantha; and son Courtney Rouse and fiancé Vickie Stephens.
