Waylon Austin Griner

July 8, 1976 — September 17, 2022

Waylon Austin Griner, 46, passed away on September 17, 2022. Waylon was born on July 8, 1976, in Riverdale, Georgia and grew up in Columbus, Mississippi; Tallahassee, Florida; and Pensacola, Florida. He met his future wife, Pam, as a child while attending Thomasville Road Baptist Church in Tallahassee, Florida. The two would marry in 1998 at that same church. In 2005, they moved to Colorado where they have resided since. Waylon loved life, the great outdoors, America, and Jesus! He enjoyed much of the adventure Colorado has to offer (hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, riding dirt bikes, and camping). He loved to do yardwork and was always looking for another place to plant a tree in the yard or what vegetable he could plant in the next garden. He loved his family, absolutely adored his son, and managed to grow a very large extended family of friends while in Colorado. He was smart and funny, often teasing to the point of making you mad, but if he was teasing you, rest assured he loved you more than you could imagine. Most importantly, he loved our Lord Jesus Christ and was not afraid to talk about his faith and often prayed for his family, friends, and the needs of others.

Waylon is survived by his wife of 24 years, Pam; their son Gage (12); his father and mother, Ray and Bonnie Griner; his sisters Shannon Spann and Alisa Johnson, their spouses and children; his father and mother-in-law, Ron and Patsy Ferguson; his sister-in-law Christi O'Neal, brother-in-law Craig Ferguson and their spouse/children.
