Wayne E. Taylor

Wayne E. Taylor, age 77, was born in Wapato, Washington, on January 6, 1946, to his loving parents, Leonard and Esther Taylor. He passed away peacefully with family in his presence on September 12, 2023, in Denver, Colorado.

Wayne led a remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. He touched the lives of many through his kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.

Wayne's quick wit and infectious laughter brightened the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His sense of humor and ability to bring joy to any situation made him a beloved figure in the lives of his family, friends, and acquaintances.

One of the ways Wayne truly touched other's lives was by ensuring that everyone felt special and valuable. He took the time to write out heartfelt holiday cards and birthday cards to those in his life, showing his love and appreciation in a thoughtful and personal way, ending with his personal touch of his own 'selfie'.

Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1969, and continued his service in the reserves from 1969 to 1971. His dedication to the nation exemplified his sense of duty and commitment.

Wayne was a positive influence throughout his time at Continental Airlines and later in life working at the theatres and for the Regional Transportation District of Denver. Wayne will be remembered by many for dressing up around the holidays, most notably as the Easter Bunny. Another of Wayne's great passions was supporting his beloved Colorado Rockies. He cheered for them with unwavering loyalty and enthusiasm, sharing in the excitement of the game with friends and fellow fans.

Wayne is preceded in death by his beloved father, Leonard Taylor, his mother, Esther Taylor, as well as his brothers Martin Taylor, Dennis Taylor, and sister Kathleen Peterson. Their memories will forever live on in Wayne's heart, as they shared a deep and enduring bond as a family.

Wayne is survived by his cherished nephews, Dustin Taylor and Kevin Taylor and their families, of Yakima, Washington, his loving sister, Janet Gergich, of Virginia, and her children Doug, Duane, and Deanna. He is also survived by his longtime friend Patrick Johnson and his family, of Denver. Wayne's family was a constant source of love and support throughout his life, and he was equally devoted to them.

Wayne will be remembered not only for his quick wit, humor, and thoughtful gestures but also for his kindness and the positive impact he had on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew him.

A reception will immediately follow the service. Additionally, there will be a Military Honors Ceremony at Fort Logan Cemetery at 2:30 PM.
