Wiley Richard Hood 10/28/1937 – 12/10/2022
Wiley Richard Hood was born October 28, 1937, in Omaha, NE to Roy Alexander Hood and Ora Marie Hood. He was the youngest of 4 children.
He graduated from high school in 1956 and immediately enlisted in the Air Force where he was an Air Craft Mechanic. Wiley met Karen Kay Seaman at a local church in Omaha in 1954 and they were married October 25, 1958. Together they had three children, one son and two daughters.
Wiley enjoyed working with his hands, fixing things, helping others, etc. When the kids were young, they traveled and went camping a lot, finding time to explore and gold pan the rivers. Wiley and Karen traveled on various cruise lines with friends, even went through the Panama Canal and visited family and friends through the years. He was an avid Bronco fan and had season tickets from 1961 which are still in the family today. He even had a Beagle he named "Bronco."
He developed Rheumatoid Arthritis about the time he bought his own Restaurant business in 1979, which slowed him down a bit. After selling the restaurant, he started another business called United Appliance and worked until the late 90s. When he retired from that, he started learning about the stock market on his own and investing, always preparing to make sure Karen was well taken care of.
Wiley is survived by his wife Karen, and 3 children: Andrew Lee Hood, Melanie Kay Hood (spouse Mark Lofthouse) and Lori Lynne Hood. He has 5 Grandchildren (Stephanie Hood, Grant Hood, Casey Killion, Kyle Killion (spouse Jordann), and Mariah Harvey (spouse Brandon). He has 3 Great-Grandchildren (Bearett Killion, Paxtynn Killion and Madilynn Hood) along with other nieces, nephews and cousins.
We will love you always and forever.
