Willard Forman, long time resident of Evergreen, CO passed away on June 22, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Evergreen. He was born to William and Lennie Forman on December 23, 1929 in Bayard, WV. He graduated from Bayard High School in 1947.
Willard served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955 as an airplane mechanic. He moved to Colorado and invented the seamless gutter machine and owed a company called Watertite Industries. Sold Watertite Industries and opened a roofing business. After the roofing business he operated the Stables at Copper Mountain Resort for seven years. Sold the stable operation and started producing trail rides and wagon train rides in the western United States with Michael Martin Murphey and Red Steagall. He and Michael completed the 500 mile Colorado Trail and raised $50,000.00 in support of the trail. After the trail ride business, he started a business with a horse drawn trolley and supplying hay to many customers in the Evergreen/Conifer area. The trolley operated in downtown Evergreen for several summers giving free rides to visitors up and down main street. During that time, he started doing trolley rides at life care centers and nursing homes. Willard always said of all the businesses he owned the one providing horse drawn trolley rides to seniors at life care centers was closest to his heart.
