Bill was born in Lexington Oklahoma in 1930.
He was in the navy and served in the Korean War as a radioman (the Morse Code guy) on the USS Shields, a destroyer ship.
After the navy he worked for the Rio Grand Railroad as a telegraph operator in Aspen, Glenwood Springs, Dotsero and Leadville Colorado, where he met his wife Roxie. They later moved to Denver. He had 8 yrs of college, and received his business degree from DU. He worked for Wonder Bread for 33 yrs, without a day sick, he would work 60 hours a week, and on Sunday drive the church bus. He was a member at Mountain State Baptist Temple, he accepted Christ and was baptized around 1970.
When he married Roxie he promised he would never divorce her or move his children around. Married until her death they lived in the same home until she passed. Bill had a wonderful sense of humor, loved music and loved to dance. Bill was a character, he was very loving and kind. The childhood he gave his kids was one of love, security, and the Christian faith. Bill was one of kind, an old school conservative, taught his kids respect, morals and ethics and he knew how to have fun.
Bill and Roxie's favorite hobbies were spending time with family and traveling, they traveled around the world together.
Bill is survived by his children Marvin Cavender, Dale Cavender, Valerie Archuletta, Troy Cavender, Lisa Fossey and 2 grandchildren Sierra Fossey, Levi Fossey and his brother Tommy Cavender of Texas and numerous extended family members.
Bill is proceeded in death by his wife Roxie Cavender, Parents Minnie Moore & Pearl Cavender, Sister Lucy Mathis and Brother Leeray Cavender of Oklahoma.
