William A. Frick

August 19, 1946 — February 14, 2022

William Allen Frick, 75 years old, of Aurora passed away Monday, February 14, 2022 peacefully at home with family and hospice support as he wished. He was born August 19, 1946 in Evansville, Indiana to Tesla Barrett Frick and Wanda Lee (Ayers) Frick. Larry, his brother, was born one year prior. Mark, Bill's younger brother, was born four years after Bill was born. Bill's sister, Ruth Ann, was born 1957. As a child he grew up in Evansville, Indiana and then the family moved to Greenbrier, Tennessee. His father was a tool and dye marker and a Westleyan Methodist Pastor.

Bill was an avid reader thanks to a third grade teacher. Bill took up golfing at a young age and caddied and learned the game well. He was known as "Lefty".

He graduated from Greenbrier High School in 1965 and enlisted in the Air Force. He excelled at running, shooting and climbing the high wall. he even helped another man get over it. After basic training in Texas he was transferred to Lowry Air Force Base. He was a willing, fast and organized worker. He was put on a committee with General Anderson to solve the problem of the men getting in trouble off base on the weekends. He suggested they build a golf course and they did. It is still functional today. He worked part time at Theaters I & II on base. There he met Tanya Jean Schuman also working part time. They got married one and a half years later after Bill returned from a remote tour in Thailand. They married December 21, 1968. Tanya was attending St. Luke's School of Nursing and graduated 1970 as an RN. Bill and Tanya were married for 53 years.

Bill was discharged honorably in 1969 and started working at IML Truck Line. Because of his fantastic memory he advanced to operations manager. He could keep track on each truck's arrival and departure times and what they had on board.

Bill and Tanya had two sons, William Allen "Billy" Frick II in 1973 and David Earl Frick in 1976. Bill has two granddaughters Trista Rose Frick and Faith Ashley Frick.

Bill also worked at Ryder Truck Lines and HVH and Rocky Mountain Garage Door. He then went to the Finance Center on Lowry. He enjoyed his job and became Vice President of the Union. He worked there until 1996 when he had health problems and had to retire. He then learned to like mountain rides and see the wild life. He returned to golfing as allowed and played with a group of retired school teachers.

Bill was survived by his wife Tanya, sons Billy and David, granddaughters Trista (her mother Alexia) and Faith and sister Ruth Ann (Joe) Schlender and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his in-laws Pamela and Billy Brown of Arizona and Deborah and Mark Trafton of Arizona and David and Rhonda Schuman of Alabama as well as other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Mark and Larry of Nashville, TN.

Bill will be missed by his family and friends.

Bill supported the Nazarene Church and many other causes. We especially want to thank Ed Belzer our pastor and congregation for their support.
