William B. Hoffman, age 76, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, July 12, 2020. From the time he was born on July 5, 1944 in Caledonia, Minnesota to his death in Littleton, Colorado, Bill's life was full of kindness, hard work, simple living and fun.
Bill was the son of Cletus and Marie (Carroll) Koenig and raised with his siblings in Caledonia. After graduating, he moved to Chicago and enlisted in the Army in 1965. He served in Vietnam for three years and upon his return, he met Diane, his wife, and started working for Xerox. Bill's career with Xerox lasted 30 years, where he was a loyal employee and developed many friendships.
Bill and Diane married in 1969 and had two children, Brian and Allison. They moved to Colorado in 1978 where they made their permanent home. Bill showed his love of being a father by playing with his children, bringing his creative skills to their projects and engaging with their activities. After he retired, he used his many talents to look after the elderly in the community. He also cared for his grandchildren, danced with Diane regularly with their dance groups, and volunteered for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and Arvada Center theater.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, woodworking, and spending time with his family. Bill and Diane loved traveling together and never missed one of their grandsons' school events, sporting games or theatrical performances.
Bill will be remembered for his storytelling and sense of humor, his love of learning, and his big laugh. He had an ability to show up and lend a hand whenever needed and always produced the perfect tool to do the job. Above all, his quiet smile was able to fill a room and bring joy to those around him.
Bill's life and legacy will be honored by his wife of 50 years, Diane; his children Brian Hoffman and Allison (Alex Peck) Hoffman; grandchildren: Zian Lusero, Eliot Lusero and Kieran Peck; his sisters Carol (Clayton) Weis, Mary Shirley, and Jane Hoffman and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
