William John Peterson
William J. Peterson of Denver, Co died Sunday, May 3 2009 at Porter Hospital in Denver after a battle with cancer.
He was born in Lovington, Iowa, the son of William Frank and Irma I. Peterson. He married Barbara Wagner in Des Moines, Iowa on November 3, 1957.
Bill attended schools in Johnson, Iowa and graduated in 1952. He was a member of the National Guard and became employed by Western Electric, a division of AT&T, shortly after graduation. He retired from AT&T in 1986 and during his retirement, worked for several independent telephone companies. In his last years, he worked as a "handyman" for anyone who needed his help with electrical problems and household tasks.
Bill was an avid hunter of both large and small game and he anxiously awaited fishing season each year. He enjoyed country music and building things with his grandson.
Survivors include his wife of Denver; a son, Wm. F. and daughter, Rebecca L. of Denver; one grandson Ronald Wm; one sister, Elizabeth McCarl and brother, Robert Michael of Johnston, IA; cousins, nieces, and nephews.
