William E. "Tic" Lewis, 74.

William Edward Lewis was born in Denver but raised in Springfield, Colorado. Known as "Tic" (short for "lunatic") by his friends in Springfield (many of whom he maintained friendships with throughout his life), passed away at home on Monday, February 11, 2019 with his wife Vera and son Michael by his side.

In 1966, three short-years after graduating from Springfield High, Bill enlisted in the Army and served as a helicopter door gunner in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1968. On his 31st birthday, in 1976, he met the love of his life, wife and best friend Vera. They would spend the next 43 years together side by side.

Bill is survived by his wife, Vera; his children, Greg, Billy, David, Michael and Lisa; his grandchildren, Christian, Stephanie, Alex, Austin and Jared.

Visitation at Newcomer-West Metro Chapel on Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 6-8 PM.

Shelter Service at Fort Logan National Cemetery (Shelter B) on Monday, February 25, 2019 at 11:30 am. Please meet at Staging Area B by 11:15 am.

A reception following the Shelter Service will take place at the family home beginning at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA.
