William P. Martin III, 79, of Aurora, Colorado passed away July 2, 2022.
Bill was born to the late William P. Martin, Jr. and Sara F. Martin on May 27, 1943 in Auburn, Alabama.
Bill served as a United State Air Force Sergeant from September 21, 1962, to September 20, 1968, in Vietnam and received the following service medals: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon, Bronze Star Medal, and AF Good Conduct Medal.
After his honorable discharge, Bill continued his public service at Westminster Police Department, retiring as a Lieutenant. He returned to school to earn his nursing degree and retired from his second career as RN Manager at St. Anthony Hospital.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Rhonda A. Martin, Tuyet Lynn Martin, brother-in-law Art Hebert, grandchildren Winter, Dallas, Peter, Pogo, and George, and a homeless neighborhood black cat he regularly fed. Bill is preceded in death by his sister, Lynn Hebert of Sun River, MT.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the ALS Association, Rocky Mountain Chapter.
A memorial service will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area C, on Friday, July 29, 2022, at 9:15 am.
