William Burt Reynolds, aged 86, of Watkins, Colorado, peacefully passed away on December 21, 2023.
He was born on April 27, 1937, in Georgetown, Ohio. To William Curtis and Bessie Edith Reynolds. Burt led a life rooted in tradition, embodying values of family, hard work, and community.
For an impressive 68 years, Burt shared a devoted and cherished marriage with Mary Ruth Reynolds. Together, they built a strong and loving foundation for their family. Burt was a loving father to his children David(Sue) Miles(Sandy) and Wayne (Cathy) Reynolds. He took great pride in nurturing and guiding them, instilling in them the importance of integrity and resilience. He had 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren
Throughout his life, Burt diligently pursued his career. He spent 23 years working at Stone Container in Ohio, dedicating himself to his craft. Upon moving to Colorado he worked for Pay and Pac for 9 years and at Buckley Air Force Base for 14 years where he exhibited unwavering loyalty and commitment. Burt' strong work ethic and sense of duty were a testament to his character and values.
Religion played a significant role in Burt's life. He found solace and spiritual nourishment at Bennett Baptist Church, where he worshipped faithfully. The fellowship and teachings of the church community provided him with strength and guidance on his journey.
In his leisure time, Burt displayed a remarkable talent for craftsmanship. He was a skilled woodworker, creating beautiful furniture and kitchen cabinets that adorned his home. Burt loved to travel, go camping, fishing, and spend time with his family. Burt enjoyed going for walks & having coffee with his friends.
During the last precious months of Burt's life he was taken care of by Advanced Hospice. His nurses Hope,Teryn and Janet were wonderful to him and the entire family.
A traditional ceremony will be held to honor and remember Burts's life.
Join us on January 5, 2024, at 11:00 am at Bennett Baptist Church, located at 555 Ist Street, Bennett, Colorado. Following the service, Burt will be laid to rest at Bennett Cemetery, where he will find his eternal peace.
