William E. Whitaker

William Whitaker, 78, of Lakewood, CO, passed away on January 30, 2023.
Bill, as he was fondly know, was born on July 21, 1944 to Alton and Helen Whitaker in Denver, Colorado. After Bill graduated from South High School he went to work for Burlington Northern Railroad. He also enlisted in the Navy Reserve. He did an active duty tour in the Philippines and completed 6 years of service.
After discharging from the Military he went back to work for Burlington Northern Railroad where he worked for 40 years until he retired. Trains was just one of his passions. He was also very passionate about Ham radio where his handle was WB0BLJ.
Bill was predeceased by his Father Alton, Mother Helen and Sister Janet. He is survived by his wife Linda, son Eric, Daughter Lisa, Daughter Sandra and son David as well as 11 grandchildren and 2 great Grand children.
Services will be held at Newcomers, 901 S Sheridan Blvd, Lakewood, CO on February 16 at 1pm.
