Bill was born in Fredricksburg, Virginia, on December 16, 1955 to William and Nancy Wilson. The eldest of five children, he is survived by his mother Nancy Wilson, sisters Wendy Bunt (Stuart), Kim Kelver, Tracy WIlson (Jerry Palmer), and Regina Salazar (Paul) as well as nieces Jennifer Vogel (Ryan), Rihannah Kelver and nephews Jason Bunt (Bea), Joshua Salazar, Jadon Bunt and Zayne Becker. He was preceded in death by his father, William C. Wilson, Sr.
Bill loved the outdoors. He never missed an opportunity to hang out at the family cabin near Hayden, Colorado. He treasured fishing, hunting and trap shooting.
Bill was a talented photographer. His photographs displayed his love of family, wildlife and the outdoors and were revelations of his gentle artistic nature.
Bill was an accomplished amateur historian particularly regarding the American Civil War, having amassed a small but extensive library on the subject matter. He did considerable genealogical research into his family's American roots during both the formation of our country as well as during the Civil War era.
Bill was an outstanding athlete. In his early years he played baseball, basketball and football. Throughout high school he excelled in football and track. His talent in football resulted in an appointment at the Naval Academy Prep School in Newport, Rhode Island. He graduated from Metropolitan State College with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting.
Bill was known for the special way he gave gifts. Year-after-year, at birthdays and Christmas, he always knew how to select meaningful and appropriate gifts for all. He gave generously. His gift wrapping skill, however, were always endearingly atrocious: looking under the tree, one never had to wonder which gifts had come from Bill!
For the last fifteen years, Bill worked as a Security Guard for Swedish Medical Center where he was greatly esteemed by is colleagues and staff.
We will miss you dearly Billy!
