Willie (Guillermo) "Worm" D. Cruz, 80 passed away peacefully in his Lakewood home on Monday, October 25, 2021. He was born in Rainsville, NM on September 23, 1941. He was the son of Adelaido and Cornelia Cruz. He grew up on a farm with his parents and 16 siblings in Avondale, CO. He later met his wife Delores (Gloria) AKA to Willie as Sam at a dance in Pueblo County. They married and moved to Denver where they raised 4 children together. He worked hard his whole life from the age of 12. He worked in the casinos in Black Hawk since 1995 until 2018.
He enjoyed fishing, gambling, and playing cards with his family. He was a HUGE Raiders fan and LOVED talking stuff to Broncos' fans. His favorite foods were red chili and goulash. He could be silly and goofy but mostly known for being his grumpy self. He always was the best dressed in the room and took great pride in his appearance.
He is survived by his four children; Diana (Gordon) St Peter, Renee (Larry) Smith, Yvonne (Ruben) Cruz, and Eric (Loretta) Cruz. Ten Grandchildren; Erica Gallardo, Jennifer Rivera, Ruben Trujillo Jr., Candice Trujillo, Janee Cruz, Gordon St Peter III, Nakia Smith, Kiana Smith, Faughn Smith, and Miranda Cruz. And five Great- Grandchildren; Luciana Gallardo, Camden Rivera, Jeremiah Gallardo, Sunni Rae Trujillo, and Aaliyah Trujillo. Also two remaining brothers; Ernesto (Pesty) Cruz and Cresencio (Chencho) Cruz.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 45 years, Gloria, his parents, his 15 siblings and son-in-law.
