Willie Mae Delihue

Born Willie Mae Jolla on April 3, 1933, in Ferriday LA, to George Jolla, Sr, and Eva Cook.
Willie Mae graduated from Sevier-Rosenwald High in Ferriday, in May, 1952, she then
attended Galileo Adult School in San Francisco for Vocational Nursing where she graduated
in September 1955.

While growing up in Ferriday, Willie Mae met Samuel Delihue, Jr., and they later united in
holy matrimony on August 31, 1957, in Denver, CO at the chapel on Lowry Air Force Base,
and to this union Sheryl and Belinda were born
Willie Mae worked a number of years for Presbyterian Hospital, she then went to work for the
Denver Public Library, which is where she later retired from. She was a faithful, dedicated,
and active member of Heritage Christian Center, which she joined around 1997, and
immediately became a Greeter.

Willie Mae was an amazing cook, she loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She was a
devoted wife, wonderful mother, and a true friend to all that were blessed to have known
her. She had a gentle spirit and a kind heart, she loved life, she loved her family, and she
truly loved the Lord.

On June 4, 2022, Willie Mae Delihue peacefully departed this life, earned her angel wings,and
went to join the love of her life in Heaven. She was preceded in death by her husband
Samuel Delihue, Jr., her sisters Dorothy Scott, Barbara Nell Smith, her brothers Ed Jolla,
Roscoe Jolla, and her parents. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters,
Sheryl Delihue, and Belinda (Kenneth) Anderson, her granddaughter Brittany (Kelvin)
Lindsey, her three great grandchildren, Nyana Lindsey, Kelvin Lindsey, Jr., Jayla Lindsey, a
host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
She will be deeply and truly missed, but never forgotten.
