Winnie Marie Lensen was born February 11, 1925 in Bentonville, Arkansas. She went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2021. She moved to Colorado in the 1950's and worked as a waitress at Hart's Corner. Here she met her husband Bill whom she married on April 7,1950. Winnie and Bill would have been married 71 years this April. She later worked at Montgomery Wards and she worked there until she retired. Christmas was her favorite time of year and she loved Santa Claus. She has an incredible Santa collection along with many other special Christmas decorations. A big part of her life was her church Trinity Lutheran Church, the Red Hats and going to garage sales. Winnie spent much of her free time crocheting, making blankets, embroidering, sewing and cooking. Her beautiful handy work brought joy to so many people. Her many blankets, aprons, tea towels and table clothes have brightened so many homes. Baking cookies, cupcakes and her famous Chex mix was what she loved to do the best. Winnie is survived by her niece Diane and her husband Ed, their children, their grandchildren and their great grandson, her nephew Ed and his wife Donna, their children and grandchildren, her niece Patty and husband Jay, their children and grandchildren, her niece Pam and husband Terry, their children and grandchildren and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Jennie and Edgar Fields and her three brothers, Earl, Stroud, Jack and his wife Faybelle.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4225 W. Yale Avenue, Denver, Colorado. Interment will follow the services at 2:00 p.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery Staging Area A.
