Our History

We trace our roots to the early 1890’s when D.W. Newcomer, a sash and door maker, was called upon to construct a coffin for a close friend. This brief encounter led Mr. Newcomer to enter funeral service by opening D.W. Newcomer’s Undertaking and Livery Service in Kansas City, Missouri in 1893. Followed by his son, David Newcomer, and grandson, Warren Newcomer, the Newcomer family continued in funeral service.

In 1995, fourth-generation funeral director Ren Newcomer and his wife Theresa expanded the family business to Colorado, opening a funeral home in Lakewood. In 2004, we built our Aurora chapel and moved our Lakewood funeral home to its current home on Sheridan. Ren and Theresa's children Maggie and John continue the tradition of providing quality funeral service at a fair price that has guided the family for generations.
